The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance that fully vaccinated people can safely do most indoor and outdoor activities without wearing masks or social distancing, except where required by law, rule, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
As well, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced that the commonwealth’s mask order reflects the CDC guidance.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our County guidance has been in-line with the CDC and PA Department of Health, and it will continue in this manner.
Fully vaccinated people will not need to wear masks within County buildings, except the Pike County Correctional Facility. According to the most recent guidance, fully vaccinated people should continue to wear masks in certain congregate settings like correctional facilities.
We request that those who are not fully vaccinated respect the current guidance and continue to mask up until they become fully vaccinated or the guidelines change.
This guidance also applies to the public when entering County buildings. Signs will be posted to convey this information.
These practices will be on the honor system.
